Siegel defeated LaVergne 10-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Alissa Harden struck out Kyante’ Britton to finish off the game.
The Stars secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fourth inning. Claire Anna Czajkowski, Aubree Huffman, Presley Leebrick, Kristen Lee, and Sophie Golliver each had RBIs in the frame.
Siegel got things moving in the first inning, when Lee singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
The Stars put up six runs in the fourth inning. Siegel’s big bats were led by Czajkowski, Huffman, Leebrick, Lee, and Golliver, all knocking in runs in the inning.
One bright spot for LaVergne was a single by Sydney Tusie in the second inning.
Golliver was on the mound for the Stars . She surrendered zero runs on two hits over five innings, striking out ten and walking zero.
Michaela Walker led things off on the hill for LaVergne. She went four innings, allowing nine runs on nine hits, striking out two and walking one. Simone Edmondson threw one inning in relief.
Siegel saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Hannah Milhorn, Huffman, and Lee all had multiple hits for the Stars. Lee, Huffman, and Milhorn all had two hits to lead Siegel.
Tusie led LaVergne with three hits in three at bats.
