Siegel defeated Oakland 5-3 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at two with the Stars batting in the bottom of the fifth when Zach Bondurant doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Siegel got things moving in the first inning, when Drew Benefield hit a solo homer.
Seth Petry took the win for Siegel. He lasted three innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out five.
Jacob Pennington took the loss for Oakland. He went six innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out nine.
Jaden Lasley started the game for the Stars. He surrendered two runs on five hits over four innings, striking out one and walking zero
Siegel launched one home run on the day. Benefield put one out in the first inning.
Bondurant, Benefield, Matt McCurry, CJ Murray, and Petry all had one hit to lead Siegel.
Oakland scattered seven hits in the game. Josh Mcgowan and Zack Lemerand all managed multiple hits for Oakland. Mcgowan went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Oakland in hits. Oakland was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Dalton Cantrell had the most chances in the field with nine.
