The Stars pulled off the big victory without ever scoring many runs in an inning. The most they scored was two in the sixth.
John Ross Langworthy was the winning pitcher for Siegel. He went five innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out five. Seth Petry threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Luke Flatt took the loss for Columbia Central. He surrendered four runs on eight hits over three and a third innings, striking out one and walking zero.
Siegel tallied 11 hits in the game. McCurry, Zac Pearson, and Drew Benefield all collected multiple hits for the Stars. McCurry went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Siegel in hits. Siegel was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Jackson Cauthron made the most plays with ten.
