Head Coach, Phil Young, Principal, Mr. Larry  Creasy, Athletic Director, Greg Wyant

The Siegel boys cross country team repeated as TSSAA state champions in the Large School division on Saturday November 3rd at Percy Warner Park in Nashville.

“The guys ran great,” Siegel coach Phil Young told TN MileSplit after the meet. “They executed, they gave great effort, they competed and that’s all I could ask them to do. They gave us a chance to win again and we’re very fortunate.”

The 2018 Stars beat 2nd place Bartlett by 72 points and 3rd place Central Magnet by 84. The 2017 State Champions beat 2nd place Knoxville Catholic by 56.  The Stars average time per runner was 16:36.59.

“This year was a lot different,” Young said. “Last year, 2017 , we weren’t even ranked and we won. This year, we were the favorites and there were different types of expectations. But the guys were always motivated from when we won last year and wanted to repeat again. They never let up. I’m really proud of the whole team.”

Siegel junior Canaan Anderson made All-State with a time of 16:13.02 to finish 10th overall, while junior Seth Robinson (17th place) finished in 16:31.59.

Sophomore Tucker Moss (21st) finished in 16:35.30, freshman Dylan Bennett (23rd) posted a time of 16:35.39 and sophomore Ben Tickle (39th) came in at 17:03.15. Junior Emilio Vernon was 53rd in 17:18.16 and sophomore Caleb Marks was 137th in 18:11:64.
