Multiple Teams · Post Season Honors Pour in for Siegel Fall Sports Athletes


Siegel Athletics had a stellar fall sports season and many of Siegel athletes and coaches were rewarded for their hard work and dedication.

The Boys Cross Country team won the TSSAA State Championship for the second year in a row.  Junior Canaan Anderson was named All State with his 10th place finish and to the Tennessean All Mid-State Cross Country Team.  Anderson, Tucker Moss and Seth Robinson were named to the Daily News Journal All Area Team.

The Girls Cross Country team surprised many people with a 2018 Region Championship and a 10th place finish at the TSSAA State Cross Country meet.  Marilyn McCarthy and Ella Phillips captured Daily News Journal All Area honors. Phillips was also named to the Tennessean All Mid-State Team.

Coach Phil Young was named the Daily News Journal Coach of the Year for both the Girls and Boys Cross Country teams and the Tenneassean Coach of the Year for Boys Cross Country

The Siegel Volleyball made school history as the Lady Stars finished Runner-Up in the TSSAA State Championship Volleyball Tournament.  Sophomore Sophia Bossong was named to the MaxPreps Sophomore All American team.  Bossong was also named to the Tennessean All Mid-State Team, District 7AAA Player of the Year, The Daily News Journal Player of the Year and Main Street Preps Player of the Year.  Julia Wheeler, Grace Reidmiller and  Julia Poarch were named to the Daily News Journal All Area First Team, the Mainstrett Preps All Rutherford County First Team, and All District 7AAA.

Coach Shawn Robinson Was named Coach of the Year by the Daily News Journal and Main Street Preps.

The Girls Soccer team garnered two District 7AAA superlatives as  Kirsten Wojciechowski was named Defensive Most Valuable Player and Mia Roberts was named Midfield Most Valuable Player.  Emily Sanchez, Emily Baker, Courtney Donnelly were all named All District 7AAA First Team.  Wojciechowski and Roberts were named to the Daily News Journal All Area First Team and the Main Street Preps All Rutherford County First Team. Sanchez was named to the Main Street Preps All Rutherford County First Team.

The Stars football team had Jon Gordon named  Co-Offensive Lineman of the Year for Region 3-6A, Daily News Journal All Area First Team, Main Street Preps First Team.  Tucker Sears was named the Co-Quarterback of the year of Region 3-6A.

The Golf team had Will LaLance and Jessica Hoeft named to the Daily News Journal All Area First Team.
