Girls Varsity Softball · Golliver Shuts Out Smyrna, Stars Win 6-0

In tonight’s season opener Sophie Golliver shut down Smyrna, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Siegel Stars Varsity to a 6-0 victory on Monday

Siegel Stars Varsity got on the board in the first inning.  Caitlyn McCrary’s sac fly scored one run for Siegel Stars Varsity.

Siegel Stars Varsity tallied three runs in the second inning.  Reagan Duran, Vanessa Westfall, and McCrary all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

A single by #10 in the second inning was a positive for Smyrna.

Golliver was on the rubber for Siegel Stars Varsity. She went seven innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out 11.

#25 was in the pitcher’s circle for Smyrna. She went six innings, allowing six runs on eight hits, striking out two and walking one.

Siegel Stars Varsity collected eight hits on the day.  Presley Leebrick and Claire Czajkowski all managed multiple hits for Siegel Stars Varsity.  Leebrick went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Siegel Stars Varsity in hits.
