Boys Varsity Baseball · Stewarts Creek Captures Lead Early to Defeat Siegel

Siegel fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 12-2 loss to Stewarts Creek on Wednesday.  Stewarts Creek took the lead on a home run in the first inning.

The Siegel struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Stewarts Creek, giving up 12 runs.

Stewarts Creek got on the board in the first inning when Sam Slaughter hit a solo homer.

Stewarts Creek scored five runs in the sixth inning.  The offensive firepower by Stewarts Creek was led by Austin Wooten, Mac Curtis,  Cam Madding, Caleb Hawkins, and Jake Alexander, who all drove in runs.

David Blackburn was the winning pitcher for Stewarts Creek. He went six innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out two.

Jack Nedrow took the loss for Siegel. He allowed ten hits and seven runs over three and a third innings, striking out one and walking one.

Jackson Cauthron, Jordan Christmon, and Evan Milligan each collected one hit to lead Siegel.

Stewarts Creek totaled 15 hits.  Alexander, Slaughter, Curtis, Wooten, and Hawkins each had multiple hits for Stewarts Creek
