Siegel defeated Riverdale 17-2 on Thursday thanks in part to Caitlyn McCrary, who drove in six runners. McCrary drove in runs on a home run in the second and a double in the third.
Siegel got things moving in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Siegel.
Siegel put up seven runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught by Siegel was led by Olivia McElroy, McCrary, Hannah Milhorn, Claire Czajkowski, and Lauren Lee, who all drove in runs.
Sophie Golliver led things off in the circle for Siegel. She allowed six hits and two runs over four innings, striking out four.
Alexis Chapman was on the rubber for Riverdale. She surrendered four runs on two hits over one-third of an inning. Becca Komers threw three and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.
Siegel socked two home runs on the day. McCrary had a long ball in the second inning. Golliver went deep in the first inning.
Siegel tallied 15 hits in the game. Vanessa Westfall, Milhorn, Czajkowski, Presley Leebrick, and McCrary each collected multiple hits for Siegel. Westfall went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Siegel in hits. Siegel was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Milhorn had the most chances in the field with four.
Riverdale tallied six hits on the day. Breanna Bailey and Esther McFarlin each managed multiple hits for Riverdale.
