Siegel fell 8-2 to Stewarts Creek on Thursday despite out-hitting them six to five.
The Siegel struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Stewarts Creek, giving up eight runs.
Siegel got things moving in the first inning. Evan Milligan singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Stewarts Creek pulled away for good with six runs in the third inning. In the third Austin Wooten singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run, Cam Madding drew a walk, scoring one run, Bryson Givens drew a walk, scoring one run, Caleb Hawkins drew a walk, scoring one run, Jake Alexander’s sac fly scored one run for Stewarts Creek, and Caleb Marks induced Andrew Priest to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Will Trapp was the winning pitcher for Stewarts Creek. He allowed five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out five. Jacob Hamblen threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Jameson Nephew took the loss for Siegel. He surrendered six runs on one hit over two and a third innings, striking out two.
Jordan Christmon went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Siegel in hits. Siegel didn’t commit a single error in the field. Jackson Cauthron had five chances in the field, the most on the team.
