Congratulations to Lauren Meyer and Eric Vaughan on being named Siegel’s Scholar Athletes of the Month for April 2019.

Lauren is a Senior on the Tennis team and the #1 seed on the team.  She has been awarded a Marketing award and an Entrepreneurship award and been invited to join the English and Mathematics honor societies.  She is dedicated, ambitious, and reliable.   Lauren has a 3.75 GPA.

Eric is a Junior center back on the Soccer team.  He was named Most Outstanding Algebra II Student (2018), Most Outstanding AP Statistics Student (2018), Most Outstanding English I Advanced Honors Student (2017), Most Outstanding Latin I Honors Student (2017). He is a perfectionist, competitive, and compassionate.  Eric has a 4.0 GPA.

Whose Your Toughest Opponent: Myself Myself
What are you working to improve on?: I am working to improve my self confidence in my game. I am working on becoming more vocal to my teammates and consistently accurate with my passing.
What inspires you to keep training and competing? I continue to play tennis, because of my love for the sport and the fact that tennis is a game that I can play for the rest of my life. The pride that comes with representing my school well and my passion for soccer inspires me to keep playing.
Your Best Sports Memory My best memory from this season was either when my doubles partner and I beat Notre Dame, a team no one at the tournament thought we could beat, or when the whole girls’ team came together to defeat the tennis team of Father Ryan. Making it to regionals last season
What are your plans after you graduate from Siegel?  I plan to go on to college and continue my education then graduate with a degree in engineering. I plan to major in computer science and then become a patent lawyer.

If You had one wish, what would it be? To be a real princess I would wish to see my dog that passed away a few years ago one more time.
What most people don’t know about you? My favorite breed of dog is a pug I love to sing, especially when nobody is listening.
Your Favorite Class? Math AP Biology
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Ireland Manchester, England. I would want to see my favorite soccer team Manchester United play.
Your Hero? Billie Jean King My Granddad. He is a veteran, has survived brain cancer twice, and is still going strong.
