Girls Varsity Softball · Bradley Strikes Out 15 on 6-1 Win Over Riverdale

An early lead helped Siegel Lady Stars defeat Riverdale 6-1 on Wednesday. Siegel scored on a single by Sam Whitwell in the first inning, a single by Jasmine Sneed in the second inning, and a single by Claire Czajkowski in the second inning.

In the bottom of the first inning, the Lady Stars tied things up at one. Siegel scored one run when Whitwell singled.

The Lady Stars pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Sneed singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs and Czajkowski singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Mary Bradley was the winning pitcher for Siegel. The bulldog lasted seven innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out 15 and walking zero.

Becca Komers took the loss for Riverdale. The righthander surrendered six runs on 11 hits over six innings, striking out three and walking zero.

Siegel collected 11 hits on the day. Rilie Maupin, Reagan Duran, Czajkowski, and Sneed all managed multiple hits for Siegel Lady Stars. Duran and Maupin each collected three hits to lead Siegel Lady Stars.

Esther McFarlin led Riverdale with one hit in three at bats.
